Molly reached over and flicked the light switch and Wattson was happy. But he soon realized that Sherlamp had not turned on with him. Why was Sherlamp still off?
“Sherlamp? Sherlamp are you okay?” but Wattson got no reply. Then he remembered. Sherlamp’s bulb had died and no one had replaced it. Wattson felt cold as the heat from his friend did not warm his lampshade. It had been months ago and yet he was still feeling the sting of that day when he and Sherlamp had been talking and Torchiarty had come over and caused a power surge on Sherlamps cord. That was the last time that Wattson had spoken to Sherlamp.
“You can’t be dead, someone has to come fix you one day, Sherlamp, I just know it.” Wattson whispered into Sherlamp’s stand. Molly had finished reading and turned off the light switch.
“Good night friend” said Wattson as he sobbed himself to sleep.
